Sunday June 6th: Beth Odets Duel-a-Thon at The Dirty Grind IAC!

Safe Sunday everyone ♫ It’s Beth’s birthday! To celebrate, we called forth a great many musicians to duet with her and provide you with a show to remember 🙂 Spread the word and wear comfortable shoes to dance to this veritable smorgasbord of talents!
http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Fender/144/116/1855

Beth Odets

Beth is a classically trained concert violinist who threw it all away to become the greatest itinerant fiddlist in Second Life. Her Solo Performances in SL feature both Violin/Fiddle AND Guitar/Vocals. She plays/sings Originals and Covers – an eclectic mix that ranges from Blues to Bluegrass and from Mozart to Metallica. Beth is an outstanding Entertainer and Musician – with a side order of funny!

3p Mimi Carpenter

Known for her distinctively gentle, French lilt, Mimi Carpenter’s talent as a self-taught musician has graced the SL music scene for a decade. Mimi’s extensive song list doesn’t just highlight the eclectic tastes and influences upon her development as an artist, which includes rock, indie and pop. The inclusion of English, French, and German language songs reflect the travels and experiences living throughout Europe and abroad.

3:30p Shannon Oherlihy

Shannon creates contemporary folk music with rich vocals and songs that resonate with a strong sense of the human experience. She started playing when she was nine years old and never stopped – since 2008 she has been performing in Second Life. Her warm, earnest voice is reminiscent of Joan Baez and Natalie Merchant.

4p The Matthew Show

Whether it’s a song about drinking and driving in Heaven, or an unconventional love ballad, Matthew sings about basically whatever he feels like in that moment. His shows are funny, entertaining, unpredictable and a guaranteed good time!

4:30p Effinjay

Jeremy Works (Frogg) was a vocal jazz minor at college, while Marc lePine (Jaycatt) studied piano for 14 years, but they only started playing music together after joining Second Life. Together, as singer-songwriters, they have produced a comprehensive range of heartfelt and memorable melodies and poetically lyrical songs. They have a loyal listener base, and entertain and delight the live music lovers of SL.

5p Lexie Luan

Lexie has been performing most of her life; her soulful style of singing lends her female energy to each song she sings. She will have you feeling her emotions right down to the core of your being, with a style that has been described as stunning and very much her own; an experience not to be missed!

5:30p Zorch Boomhauer

Diversity, intensity, reverence and heresy, with a breath drawn long sometimes stretched tense as silvered steel over wood and bone, with the power of his evocative and thought provoking lyrics – that’s Zorch Boomhauer. His music has a sometimes painful directness and honesty rarely found even in earthy folk, and his tales tell themselves as elegantly in melody as in his sometimes brutal words.

6p Raspbury Rearwin

Staying as far below the radar as he can, he’ll Ninja surprise you with his sultry smooth take on the songs you forgot you loved and a few you never heard before. Gripping originals and covers you won’t recognize make for an hour of fun and aural pleasure 🙂

6:30p Twostep Spiritweaver

From Blues to Bluegrass, Beatles to Bach, Grateful Dead to Van Morrison and all the music inbetween, Twostep Spiritweaver weaves his way through all of it. He may play pure blues followed by sweet ballads and love songs, or he might just start playing to see where the music takes him.

7p RoseDrop Rust

Rusty plays sensitive ballads, classic rock and roll, unusual covers, unique songs from personal friends, heartfelt originals accompanied by live guitar or piano. He’s also known for his provocative poems he likes to throw in the mix when the mood strikes!

7:30p The Vinnie Show

Singing current favourites to Classic Rock & Pop: those songs you grew up with and loved, songs you’ve newly discovered and some trending now… plus ORIGINALS – all acoustically, Vinnie pours his heart and soul into every song and Live performance… hoping to give something to each person in the audience. The Vinnie Show is all about having fun together!
