Sunday September 9th – Last day for the Carnival of the Arts at The Dirty Grind!

Happy Sunday everyone! The party at The Dirty Grind IAC concludes today, so milk it and the weekend for all their worth! Several hours of live shows for you to attend, plus the art exhibition, plus the field trips: if you had no plans for today you’re all set now 😉

2pm Wald Schridde

As “The One-Man Renaissance Band”, Wald creates layered, multi-track recordings of medieval and renaissance music: sing and play folk songs, traditional tunes and early music on guitar, autoharp, mountain dulcimer, recorders, mandolin, and penny whistle.

3pm Lexie Smith

Lexie Smith has been performing most of her life; her soulful style of singing lends her female energy to each song she sings. She will have you feeling her emotions right down to the core of your being, with a style that has been described as stunning and very much her own; an experience not to be missed.

4pm Winston Ackland

Winston has a gift with connecting with his audiences as they relax in the cozy atmosphere his presence creates and enjoy innovative songs crafted from a blend of rock, bossa nova, folk, blues and jazz.

5pm DimiVan Ludwig

DimiVan Ludwig is a veteran pro, performing in Second Life since 2006. Dimi is renown for his naughty humor during his performances. No one is safe during a Dimi show, and everyone leaves with a smile on their face. Couple his hilarious humor with an amazing voice and a superb ability to play the guitar and piano, you will certainly leave a DimiVan Ludwig show wanting more!

6pm The Vinnie Show

Singing current favourites to Classic Rock & Pop: those songs you grew up with and loved, songs you’ve newly discovered and some trending now… plus ORIGINALS – all acoustically, Vinnie pours his heart and soul into every song and Live performance… hoping to give something to each person in the audience. The Vinnie Show is all about having fun together!

7pm Effinjay

Frogg was a vocal jazz minor at college, while Jay studied piano for 14 years; together , as singer/songwriters, they have produced a comprehensive range of heartfelt and memorable melodies and poetically lyrical songs.

8pm Etherian Kamaboko

Etherian Kamaboko performs live acoustic/electric Roots, Blues, Americana, Classic Rock, Folk style of music with vocals, harmonica, and electric and acoustic guitars. A little of this and a whole lotta that.

2pm Shannon  Oherlihy

Shannon creates contemporary folk music with rich vocals and songs that resonate with a strong sense of the human experience. She started playing when she was nine years old and never stopped – since 2008 she has been performing in Second Life. Her warm, earnest voice is reminiscent of Joan Baez and Natalie Merchant.

3pm Thunderfoot Lorefield

Thunderfoot Lorefield brings a highly eclectic set, slicing through genres like a warm knife through butter. His years of experience in rock, country, folk and gospel are evident in his song choices, and in his light-hearted delivery. Each show is unique, and most shows will have something never heard at a TL show before, as his repertoire and arrangements remain fluid and surprising.

4pm Phemie Alcott

Phemie has been a singer-songwriter since 1993 and has loved playing in Second Life since 2007. Along with her RL performing career, she has enjoyed playing to people from all over the world here in this warm and supportive environment of SL music. Her songs are introspective piano based tunes.

6pm Grace McDunnough

“A modern bard with sass and soul to spare, with an old guitar, rich lyrics and powerfully raw vocals that will leave your heart pounding.”
Grace McDunnough is a singer/songwriter and virtual world experience developer; she is dedicated to embracing immersive online platforms to deliver unique listener experiences.

7pm Bearsheart

Bearsheart will treat you to a great show thanks to her diverse influences, spanning genres from Americana to African drumming, roots to rock, folk to funk and much more. With singer-songwriters like Linda Ronstadt and Mary Chapin Carpenter as inspiring figures, you can be sure her performance will be original and unforgettable.

8pm Suzen JueL

Suzen is an amazing singer songwriter and one helluva dirty ride! She delivers an incredible show with each of her performances and has a smooth easy style that makes fans of first time listeners.

Friday September 7th – The Dirty Grind’s in-house shows are back!

Happy Friday everyone! The wait is finally over: Lisa and Ian worked hard on the renovations, so a spanking new venue awaits you and, since they never do things half-assed, they are throwing a party so big it’ll last three days, with aallll our extremely talented musicians entertaining you for hours on end 🎶 Also, let’s not forget the incredible art exhibition by Silas Merlin and, of course, the field trips!

3pm David Csiszer

David Csiszer is a vocalist/multi-instrumentalist artist playing acoustic-centered music flavored with different genres, sometimes splashing his electric guitar, bass, drums, keys, and banjo into the mix.

4pm Strum Diesel

Sean began playing guitar and writing songs at 13. In 2008, he entered Second Life as Strum Diesel, sharing his craft in a live unpredictable setting, where listeners can hear what Sean is really all about.

5pm The Matthew Show

Whether it’s a song about drinking and driving in Heaven, or an unconventional love song, Matthew sings about basically whatever he feels like singing about. His shows are funny, entertaining, unpredictable and a guaranteed good time!

6pm Jamba LosAngeles

Jamba LosAngeles performs music that haunts your heart with a smile. He plays a twelve string acoustic guitar and harmonica. His music has been heard regularly in Second Life since the beginning of SL time. Music that is “haunting in a beautiful way”. He covers songs that you have heard before, but not like this…

7pm Twostep Spiritweaver

From Blues to Bluegrass, Beatles to Bach, Grateful Dead to Van Morrison and all the music inbetween, Twostep Spiritweaver weaves his way through all of it. He may play 30 minutes of pure blues followed by 30 minutes of sweet ballads and love songs, or he might just start playing to see where the music takes him.

8pm Benski Korhonen

Benski Korhonen is a traveller, an artist, a “quadruple threat”: an actor, singer, dancer, composer/musician, a lover, a clown, a man with a dream and a vision, and an all ‘round likeable chap. So he has been described, so we present him to you in his joyously eclectic talent for your listening pleasure!
